Wii and PS3 Launch on Nov. 19th
November 17th, 2006 by bastardizer
2 more days to go to get the Wii and Ps3 launched. My feet and itching and I can’t wait to see what these 2 consoles have to offer. I gotta admit, that’s a very important day… It’s also my kids birthday (JL), so, I’ll see if I pass by Multiplaza with him. I think that the Wii and PS3 are launching here in Panama on the 25th, but I have to check that out. Anyways, I wont post any more topics about the Wii and PS3 for a long time. I am tired of listening about Sony’s fuckups and the Wii’s plans before it. I still think Nintendo will prevail on this one. Anyways, have you heard about the Sony batteries that exploded on laptops all over the world? jejeje…

Hi All Experts,I need help…
1. what kind of cables does the Wii come with?
2. Is there a VGA-adapter coming out anytime soon?
3. If i use the s-video cable, will the remote still sense the screen on which my projector projects the image onto?
Cheers and thanks in advance.
Hey Theodore
To answer your questions
1. The wii comes with standard AV cables, sadly no component cables included to upgrade to partial high def, but they can be ordered through nintendo itself and third parties are coming out with component cables. Just dont expect 720p or anything above that.
2. I wouldnt put it past them. But to be honest I dont know much about cables and video but I would assume that other types of VGA adapters might work.
3. The sensors are housed inside the wii-mote itself and they sense accelaration, tilt, and yaw. mUch like sony´s six-axis. The difference lies with the sensor bar that comes packaged with the wii and sits below or above your screen. It is wired but its tiny and unobtrusive and the wire itself is quite long. Some people have had trouble with their projector setups because the wire for the sensor bar is a little too short for humongous setups but DIY solutions have been found and theres plenty of wireless sensor mockups on the internet.
I digress though. In my experience with my own Wii and testing others I have found no problem with projector setups and detection thanks to the sensor bar. Your setup should not have any troubles.
Hope I was somewhat helpful. If ranty
